慶應SFC 総合政策学部 AO入試(グローバル) 志望理由書 提出例(田島英一研究会向け)

  1. Professor Eiichi Tajima

Introduction of the discussion

Currently, the Chinese government recognizes the five religions such as Catholic, Protestant, Islam, Buddhism and Taoism. Here, Christianity is counted as two in Catholic and Protestant, but Islam is collectively defined as Islam despite being divided into Sunni and Shia, and Buddhism is also regarded as Buddhism regardless of denominations such as Shingon Buddhism, Tendai Buddhism and Zen Buddhism.

It is said that the number of people who are stressed due to work, human relations, anxiety about the future, and the number of people who believe in religion is increasing in China as the economy undergoes remarkable development.

However, the Chinese Communist Party government has not changed the perception that religion is a negative factor in national governance. Therefore, it is the Chinese government’s religious policy that religion should be under government supervision.

Finding the problem

Then, what is the current situations in the spread of Christianity in the present China?

Argument

Christianity is subject to strict management and interference, but at present, it is said that there are at least 60 million Christians in China. Here, there are about 10 million Catholics, most of which are Protestant.

New urban churches that have begun to stand out from the 90s are characterized by many theological reforms, white-collars and university students.

The fact that students from prestigious universities who would be responsible for the future of China are participating as new believers one after another has also led to a sense of crisis in the authorities.

Conclusion

Therefore, I would like to study the future trends of Christians, especially the urban emerging churches, and the impact on the Chinese Communist Party government, even under Chinese Communist Party surveillance.

Examining the conclusion

By studying with Professor Eiichi Tajima, who has achievements in Chinese area studies and is familiar with Chinese Christian groups, I am sure that I could obtain various perspectives regarding my research and it would open up new horizons for me.

Therefore, I believe that Keio University’s Faculty of Policy Management is the most suitable place for pursuing my research and social contributions, and I am aspiring to enter your school and study in your laboratory.
