- Professor Michito Tsuruoka
Introduction to the discussion
The importance of Japan’s outgoing communication to Europe in various fields such as politics, diplomacy, and security is increasing.
This is because the understanding of Japan and Asia in Europe is still at a low level due to the deepening conflicts among Japan, China, and Korea.
If the European nation’s trust in Eastern Asia could increase, it will have beneficial effects on tension relief in Eastern Asia.
Finding the problem
While communication with a respectful mind towards other parties is known to be essential in our social life, I believe that that it is also effective in constructing good international relations.
I believe that respectful mind ultimately cultivates mutual trust.
However, in my opinion, the outgoing communication to the world from Japan is still insufficient, considering that Japan is one of the world’s power countries.
Argument
In politics, the focus is often on interests, but humans are responsible for politics, and their intentions reflect the will of the people.
It is important to expand the scope of communication beyond the boundaries of Japan and Asia.
Japan’s role as one of the world’s power countries is all-time high and with the rise of China, interest in Japan as a source of information is growing.
Conclusion
Therefore, I would like to study the issue of outgoing communication with European partners from a micro perspective rather than a conventional macro perspective.
Specifically, I would like to investigate how the dissemination of information from Japan is conducted and how it is received by the citizens of the partner countries and extract issues for building trust from there.
From there, I would like to explore strategies for enhancing the effectiveness of Japan’s outgoing communications and strengthening Japan-Europe relations.
Examining the conclusion
By studying with Associate Professor Michito Tsuruoka to deepen insights on the latest topics in European politics and the EU, and also by studying with Professor Takeo Kuwahara to learn about marketing and consumer behavior, I wish to gain more awareness of the effects brought by strengthening outgoing communication.
I am sure that I could obtain various perspectives regarding our research and it would open up new horizons for me.
Therefore, I believe that Keio University’s Faculty of Policy Management is the most suitable place for pursuing my research and social contributions, and I am aspiring to enter your school and study in your laboratory.
