It is safe to say that the field of publicity has been monopolized by the government until now. And it is true that public works have been a means of pursuing profits by many private companies.

However, there should be public works by citizen-driven society formation, not by government-led society creation.

Here, taking welfare as an example, the concept of “welfare NPO” is an organization that has a new management firm that provides social services such as welfare from the standpoint of the non-profit organization.

I believe that “Welfare NPO” has the potential to recreate the public nature of the society from the citizens’ point of view that has been dominated by the government.

Then, what are the problems with “welfare NPOs”?

Argument

Considering the recent situation that expectations and attention to the entire NPO as well as the welfare field are growing rapidly, there is no doubt that NPO’s own organizational capabilities will be further questioned in the future.

However, since these activities rooted in the region will reflect the unique situation of the region, the reciprocity of “welfare NPOs” will be different depending on the current status of local communities and personal networks and the historical background.

It is also a question of what social significance reciprocity is possible to create when reciprocity which characterizes “welfare NPO” goes beyond the user-provider relationship.

In this regard, thinking in relation to social capital issues is considered to be one clue.

Conclusion

Therefore, I would like to conduct a study to compare the current status and issues of social welfare organizations, especially social welfare corporations, and future directions with “welfare NPOs”.

Examining the conclusion

By studying with Professor Gen Miyazaki, who has numerous research achievements on NPO establishment/management and social network, I am sure that I could obtain various perspectives regarding my research and it would open up new horizons for me.

Therefore, I believe that Keio University’s Faculty of Policy Management is the most suitable place for pursuing my research and social contributions, and I am aspiring to enter your school and study in your laboratory.
