- Professor Hiroto Kobayashi
Introduction of the discussion
Professor Kobayashi tries to envision the future shape of the city by accurately understanding the changing state of the current city, from the space components that make up a city to the human relationships in the community.
Through this research, the ideal way of town development through the future concept of local entities utilizing regional characteristics can be studied and predicted.
For example, if we focus on a typical depopulated area, by studying its natural environment, industry, and history, renovating and reusing unoccupied houses, and thinking about the future of the area together with local residents, we can work on the depopulation problem of the area from the viewpoint of community development.
Finding the problem
At first glance, there seems to be no relation between the architecture which forms the physical space and the community of people.
Argument
However, the architecture and the community are not formed separately, and invisible “field forces” are acting.
In order to understand “field forces”, the relationship between the form of space with people must be clarified.
Conclusion
Therefore, I would like to deepen my research on the interaction between the space that surrounds humans and the formation of human relationships through participation in the demonstration project.
Examining the conclusion
By studying with Professor Hiroto Kobayashi, who is leading a unique study group where practical learning can be expected through participation in not only desk study, but also in the projects that needs field work, I am sure that I could obtain various perspectives regarding my research and it would open up new horizons for me.
Therefore, I believe that Keio University’s Faculty of Environment and Information Studies is the most suitable place for pursuing my research and social contributions, and I am aspiring to enter your school and study in your laboratory.
